Did you install different sand than what had been installed post redo? How are the bunkers going to be firmed up as they were too soft post redo? Will the bunkers drain better than post redo?
This summer’s bunker augmentation program consisted of skimming out any contaminated sand, then adding back more of the same clean sand and then compacted the sand. Believe it or not, the issue with the bunker right after the renovation was that they didn’t have enough sand. Due to our water quality and a whole bunch of other reasons, we just needed to increase the depth to allow the sand profile enough “space” to drain properly. Since redoing the bunkers this summer, they have performed spectacularly through all of the rains.
Next wk during our 3 day closure, a large emphasis of the closure will be to compact the bunkers again and ensure there is enough sand throughout the profile to maintain the proper playability.
