A little over 3” of rain, the course is very squishy. Small rain squalls still passing through occasionally. Small debris everywhere, there’s a few large limbs here and there. Bunkers held up very well! Some perimeter landscaping needs to be stood back up. My staff is mobilizing to begin cleanup.

The post I forgot to send yesterday
Some drone shots of the course right before we open for Labor Day. All the bunkers have been excavated down to clean sand. Then a total of 8” of sand added to the bottom and 4” of sand on the faces was added. The new nursery grn on 15 is done, perimeter landscaping has been installed, 13 cart path has been enlarged to shorten the carry from the gold tees, palm trees have been added to the range berm to protect 6 grn, and my staff is wrapping up bunker face irrigation installation in the next couple weeks.
Building a new golf course on top of an old golf course means there’s lots of “stuff” left in the ground. It’s way too expensive to go in and remove all the old stuff. So during construction if we disturb the old stuff we do our best to ensure what was damaged doesn’t cause a future problem, bless it, say a lil prayer, and bury most of it. That scenario is magnified exponentially when you redesign a golf course and build things in different locations. Watch the short video to see what happened.
Another 1” of rain last night. We are wet …. but NOT cart paths only. Please stay out of drain areas and pay attention to cart directional signage.
Another 4 inches of rain in two hours fell on Sunday. That puts our total for the last three weeks a little over 20 inches of rain. We didn’t even get 20 inches of rain and all of 2023. Check out the video to see what we’re dealing with this morning.
